Privacy Policy

Guestloop ("Guestloop," "we," "us," or "our") provides a platform for creating and managing events, tracking guests, and sending templated SMS reminders. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Guestloop, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text.
Event and guest data you provide. To use the service, you create events and add guests. This includes event details (name, date, time, location, description) and the guest information you enter — guest names, phone numbers, optional email addresses, and RSVP status. You provide this information about your guests, and you are responsible for it.
Message content. We store the SMS templates you write and a log of the reminders sent, including delivery status, so you can monitor your sends.
Payment information. Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number. We store only your prepaid credit balance and a history of your top-up and usage transactions.
Technical and usage data. We automatically collect limited technical data such as IP address, device and browser type, and basic usage events needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
Provide, maintain, and operate the Guestloop service;
Send the SMS reminders you schedule, through our messaging provider Linq;
Process prepaid credit top-ups and charge credits for messages sent;
Respond to your support requests and communicate with you about your account;
Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues;
Comply with legal obligations.
3. SMS Messaging and Your Guests
Guestloop sends SMS messages to the guests you add, on your behalf. You are responsible for obtaining any consent required to message your guests and for complying with all applicable laws and carrier requirements. With respect to your guests’ personal information, you act as the controller of that data and Guestloop processes it on your behalf to provide the service.
Guests who receive messages can opt out at any time by replying STOP (or a similar keyword). We and our messaging provider honor these opt-out requests.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information or your guests’ personal information. We share information only as follows:
Service providers (subprocessors). We share data with vendors who help us run the service, including Linq (SMS delivery), Stripe (payment processing), and our cloud hosting and database providers. These providers may use the data only to provide services to us.
Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Guestloop, our users, or others.
Business transfers. If Guestloop is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account, event, guest, and transaction data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. We may retain certain records as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your data as described below.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption of passwords and transmission of data over secure connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update much of your account information directly in the app. To make a request, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond consistent with applicable law.
8. Children’s Privacy
Guestloop is not directed to children and is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International Users
Guestloop is operated from the United States. If you access the service from outside the United States, you understand your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of Guestloop after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
